Villanova University Communications Students Support Anti-Trafficking Coalition, PAATH, with Media Toolkit

Posted: February 8, 2018

We are so proud to be a part of Nova Nation, a community where students pursue opportunities to grow as professionals and agents for social change. In the Fall 2017 semester the CSE Institute helped to form an interdisciplinary partnership between Villanova University Communications students, their professor, Billie Murray, PhD, Associate Professor of Communication, and PAATH – the Pennsylvania Alliance Against Trafficking in Humans.

PAATH is statewide coalition of anti-human trafficking organizations. A primary objective of the coalition is to oversee the implementation of “Act 105”, Pennsylvania’s comprehensive anti-trafficking law. The students- Veronica Manley ’17 CLAS, Devin Hassinger ’18 CLAS, MaryRose Daily ’18 CLAS, Sarah Stiglianese ’18 CLAS, Siobhan O’Toole ’18 CLAS and Kathleen O’Connor ’18 CLAS- were drawn to working with the coalition, because they wanted to develop a project that would have a positive impact.

The  students created a media toolkit for PAATH, complete with an official logo, a media outreach plan, and a social media campaign. You can view some of their incredible content on the new PAATH website: www.educateandadvocate-paath.org.
