In collaboration with the Pennsylvania Department of Homeland Security, CSE Institute hosted “Combatting Human Trafficking in Pennsylvania: Awareness to Enforcement” on March 3, 2015 at Villanova University.
The training participants were diverse – from prosecutors and members of law enforcement to victims’ services providers, advocates and more. These participants represented regions throughout Pennsylvania and some even traveled from western Ohio.
The training focused primarily on sex trafficking. Presenters discussed the various stages of building a case, including how to identify victims and perpetrators, run a comprehensive investigation, and actively collaborate with victims’ services providers.
CSE Institute Director, Shea Rhodes, Esq. lead a comprehensive instruction on Pennsylvania’s most recent Human Trafficking law, Act 105.
Several members of the CSE Institute Board of Advisors also presented, including Assistant United States Attorney, Michelle Morgan (see photos), who lead the session on “Prosecution of the Case: Sex Trafficking.”
