On Wednesday, September 30, 2015, Rutgers Law School will present the Mary Philbrook 30th Annual Public Interest Award to the Honorable Marsha H. Neifield, President Judge of the Philadelphia Municipal Court and member of the CSE Institute Board of Advisors. Judge Neifield, first elected in 2009, is the first woman to serve as President Judge of the Philadelphia Municipal Court. Rutgers Law School is honoring Judge Neifield for her tireless efforts in implementing courts, which create alternatives to formal prosecution in the areas of domestic violence, mental health, possession of small amounts of marijuana, and sex work, among others.
The 30th Annual Philbrook Awards will be held from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the Multi-Purpose Room at the Rutgers-Camden Campus Center. In addition to presenting this award, the ceremony will honor the Rutgers Law School’s Domestic Violence Program and Professor Sally F. Goldfarb for her work on the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA). Tickets cost $35 and those who are interested in attending should reserve a seat by September 29, 2015.
The CSE Institute wishes to congratulate Judge Neifield as she receives this award.
