Introducing our Justice for Victims Fellow, Sarah K. Robinson

The Villanova Law Institute to Address Commercial Sexual Exploitation is pleased to announce Sarah K. Robinson, Esq. as the inaugural recipient of the CSE Institute’s Justice for Victims Fellowship.

The fellowship, made possible in large part to the generosity of Julie A. Uebler, Esq. and Steve R. Wall, Esq., the Defender Association of Philadelphia, and the Carole Landis Foundation for Social Change, enables the CSE Institute to provide direct legal services to survivors of commercial sexual exploitation.

A 2016 graduate of Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, Sarah is an alumna of the CSE Institute having worked as an extern during the spring and fall semesters of 2015 and as a research assistant and mentor to incoming externs during the spring semester of 2016.

As the Justice for Victims Fellow, Sarah will work as a criminal defense attorney for the Defender Association of Philadelphia representing participants in Project Dawn Court. She also will work to provide civil legal services to survivors of commercial sexual exploitation in a clinical setting utilizing partnerships with pro bono attorneys and the CSE Institute’s community legal services allies.

Additionally, Sarah will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on policy developments relating to commercial sexual exploitation, both locally and nationally, through the compilation of information and data provided by survivors on incidents of commercial sexual exploitation. She will develop educational materials about the complex legal needs of victims and survivors, and train law enforcement, state policy makers, service providers, and other stakeholders on best practices for both the legal and social responses to commercial sexual exploitation continue to effectuate change.
