On National Human Trafficking Awareness Day, Monday, January 11, the Valley Against Sex Trafficking (VAST) is hosting its bi-monthly community meeting at 7:00 p.m. The meeting will take place at VAST’s new meeting location: East Side Youth Center at 1140 East Clair Street, Allentown, PA.
In order to recognize the prevalence of human trafficking and to kick off VAST’s fifth year as the Lehigh Valley’s benchmark coalition against sex trafficking, the community meeting will include guest speakers, artistic expressions from survivors of sex trafficking, and light hors d’oeuvres. The speaking program will include words from CSE Institute Director, Shea Rhodes, Esq., State Representative Peter Schweyer, Regional Manager for U.S. Senator Pat Toomey, Marta Gabriel, former Easton City Councilman, Jeff Warren, and survivors and supporters.
VAST invites all community members to attend this meeting to learn more about issues in the fight against trafficking. For more information about this event, please visit VAST’s event page. For those who are unable to attend, VAST invites everyone to raise awareness by wearing white on January 11 and posting on social media with the hashtag #whiteforfreedom.
